    Crossing Angle

The best angle for pedestrians and bicyclists to cross railroads is 90 degrees. The 20 degree angle at which the railroad crosses North Miami Avenue at 19th is so acute bicyclists must travel far right of the right-of-way, then cut sharply left and into traffic in order to avoid trapping their wheels in the flangeway gaps.
